7. PROJECT CONTRIBUTIONS (last edited on 29/11)
Contribution 1: I came up with a topic suggestion which was on self-operated vehicles for logistics. However, after a group discussion we picked another topic which was on modular tether systems for drones.
Contribution 2: My team and I had a discussion on drones. My team member Emmanuel is a drone expert, I asked him some questions related to drones and their tether systems to gain a better understanding of the topic as a whole.
Contribution 3: Together with my team member, Raiyan, we presented a few points on decision-making on our topic, discussed research statements and challenges that we are facing or have faced. This was presented to Sir Brad and our classmates.
Contribution 4: I searched for some of the companies that make drone tethers. I did a Google search for this and reviewed some of the companies that we could pitch to. We eventually decided on NACT Engineering as a team.
Contribution 5: Furnishing the problem and purpose statements.
Contribution 6: For the presentation slides, I made the slides on the following: - tether system operation in Singapore, existing tether systems and their pros and cons.
Contribution 7: I planned for a time for our group to rehearse our presentation prior to the actual presentation.
Contribution 8: For the presentation itself, I demonstrated the operation of a drone through a video. Additionally, I used some physical props to replicate the drone tether system so that the audience (my classmates) could understand the system better.
Contribution 9: For the technical report, I wrote about the procedures of a drone tether system operation. I also delved into some of the limitations that drone tether systems have currently.
Contribution 10: I introduced my team members to automatic citations and a reference list creation for Microsoft Word. However, we as a team still have to look into getting the references to align with APA 7 standards.
Contribution 11: Checking the final report for any obvious and critical errors.
I really do appreciate the detail on your many contributions in this reflection.
